Dr. Akech Ochungo owns a large, modern villa in Karen, Nairobi County with high energy demands driven by multiple household loads, modern appliances, and lifestyle requirements. Prior to going solar, the home was heavily dependent on grid power, resulting in monthly electricity bills averaging approximately KES 30,000.
Seeking a long-term solution to reduce energy costs while maintaining power reliability and quality, Dr. Akech approached ALKIM Green Galaxy Limited for a professionally engineered solar solution that could sustainably power his villa without compromising comfort.
Following a detailed site survey and load analysis, we designed and installed a 9kWp hybrid solar power system, delivering 12kW AC inverter capacity and supported by a 20kWh lithium battery energy storage system (BESS). The system was tailored to significantly cut electricity costs while ensuring steady, uninterrupted power throughout the home.
