Mwaura Apartments had been operating their borehole water pump solely on grid electricity for the past five years, resulting in high monthly electricity bills. To reduce operational costs and ensure sustainable water pumping, the client sought a solar-powered borehole solution. ALKIM Green Galaxy was tasked with designing and implementing a cost-effective solar system to power the borehole pump efficiently.

This system included: 14 units of 590W solar panels, 6Kw borehole sunverter, Aluminium solar mounting structures, DC cables and protective accessories (MC4 connectors, breakers, SPDs).

The primary goal for Mwaura Apartments was to cut electricity expenses by switching their borehole operation from KPLC grid power to solar energy. ALKIM Green Galaxy designed and installed an 8.26 kWp solar pumping system that fully powers the existing borehole pump using sunlight. The system harnesses solar energy during the day, operating the pump efficiently and reducing grid reliance. High-quality aluminium structures ensured the 14 solar panels are mounted securely for maximum energy capture.
